Sands Family Grounds (SFG - Rosslyn) - Connecting to the Wireless (Wi-Fi) network(s) for Guests and Students

There are two wireless (Wi-Fi) networks at Sands Family Grounds. Note: Eduroam is not available at SFG. Users will not be able to connect to nor use Eduroam while at SFG. 

  • Guests and students can connect to either wireless network. 
  • Both networks are secure. 
  • Instructions on how to connect to either network is available for Windows Operating System (OS) and Mac Operating System (OS).
  • There are no spaces in the wireless network name (see below).

1) Connect to the UVADardenSandsFG-Guest network


Windows OS


Select the Network icon on the taskbar. 

  • The icon that appears depends on your current connection state. 
  • If you don’t see one of the network icons (or a similar one) shown in the following image, select the Up arrow to see if it appears there.



Choose the UVADardenSandsFG-Guest network, then select Connect.



Type the network password, and then select Next.


Network password: W3lcomeGuests!


Note: Don't forget to type in the exclamation mark or exclamation point (!) in the above network password.



Choose No, because you do not want your PC to be discoverable by other PCs and devices on the network. 


Once you have successfully connected, you should see "Connected, Secured" for UVADardenSandsFG-Guest network.



Mac OS

On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, then choose the UVADardenSandsFG-Guest Wi-Fi network. 


  • If you don't see the Wi-Fi icon  in the menu bar, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Network. Select Wi-Fi in the sidebar, then select ”Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar.”


Enter the password for the network.


Network password: W3lcomeGuests!


Note: Don't forget to type in the exclamation mark or exclamation point (!) in the above network password.


Click Join.


2) Connect to the UVADardenSandsFG network


Windows OS


Select the Network icon on the taskbar. 

  • The icon that appears depends on your current connection state. 
  • If you don’t see one of the network icons (or a similar one) shown in the following image, select the Up arrow to see if it appears there.



Choose the UVADardenSandsFG network, then select Connect.



Type the network password, and then select Next.


Network password: D@rdenRo55lyn




Choose No, because you do not want your PC to be discoverable by other PCs and devices on the network. 


Once you have successfully connected, you should see "Connected, Secured" for UVADardenSandsFG network.



Mac OS


On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, then choose the UVADardenSandsFG network.
